(trailer review) - RoboCop: Rogue City

Being born in the 80's (and quite possibly the 70's) must have been one of the best decades in history thus far in regards to technology, movies, music, if you grew up in the late 80's and 90's. Even the 2000's had some moments, but nothing quite beats a movie from the 80's. You can tell because Hollywood keep going back to the well on these movies from that era to either continue, reboot or make a franchise out of. RoboCop came out in 1987. RoboCop 2 came out 3 years later. Both excellent movies. However, in 1993, Hollywood tried again again and RoboCop 3 just was not as good at all. There was a reboot of RoboCop in 2014 and whilst I didn't think it was terrible and quite liked it, nobody was really interested. I cannot place the reason, maybe bad marketing, but Joel Kinnaman aka The Suicide Squad's Rick Flag was fine in the role. The story...ok. In 2020, it has been mentioned a sequel is in the works to RoboCop 1987 just like what they did with Halloween (let's just hope they do not call RoboCop [whichever year it comes out] RoboCop just like the 1987 movie, RoboCop, like how Halloween 2018 was simply called Halloween like the original movie called Halloween back in 1978).

This trailer looks good. A first person shooter with a lot of goons and mechs to shoot at, but...will that be enough? I find that a lot of these games from this era, if not done right and not though thought had gone into it, some of these games lack anything new being brought to the table. Anyone can do a shooter. Anyone can base it on a 80's movie. But whilst it would be fun to play as the character, what other elements of fun within that world could you bring to make things seem authentic, new, challenging and enjoyable without it feeling repetitive and/or boring. I am definitely interested in seeing more to see whether this is worth a buy
